Just a reminder that if anyone comes to your door selling something, you should ask to see their signed peddler's permit before talking with them. The Village collects a $100 fee and the police do criminal background checks on all persons who want to go door to door within the Village. Your safety is of the utmost importance. If there are any doubts or they cannot produce a peddler's permit, please contact the police and don't open your door.
Additionally, the Village neither endorses or supports specific solicitors. All are treated equally when they apply for a permit. If the solicitor does not observe and obey the ordinances of the Village, his/her peddler's permit may be revoked. They also agree that if a resident states that they are not interested, they must leave the property immediately.
