Residents: Please do not sign any contracts until you have validated the company you would like to hire & checked out the work they have performed in previous jobs. Also, please ask to physically see the solicitor's permits. Solicitors are required to carry them at all times and be able to show proof of them. We've had instances when residents have asked "solicitors" if they have a permit, and they say they do, but they don't.

The Village of Williamsville has passed a new ordinance in regards to commercial dumping. Any person, business, firm, corporation, company who has collected yard waste for a fee that is collected from or generated from residential real estate located within the corporate boundaries of the Village of Williamsville, must apply for and receive a permit from the Village to deposit, dump, or dispose of any yard waste at the Village's yard waste burn pile. The permit is free of charge and valid for three days from the date of issuance. A permit application must be signed by both the owner/occupant and the contractor. Applications may be turned into the Village Clerk at the Village Hall, or if the Village Hall is not open, then a police officer on-duty or on-call, or the Director of Public Works. Once a permit is issued, the contractor is required to keep the signed permit in their possession at all times.
Any violation of the ordinance is punishable by a fine of $500.00 for a first offense and $1000.00 for a second or any subsequent offense. The full ordinance may be found below. Maker's Market is returning to Williamsville on May 26, June 23, July 28, August 25, and September 22. The event will be from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. for each date.
