Boil Order Information
Boil orders are issued when there is an interruption in water flow due to a water main break, accidental cut, or required maintenance. You are advised to boil all water used for drinking, preparing food, beverages, ice cubes, washing fruits and vegetables, or brushing teeth for five (5) minutes prior to drinking it. This is a precautionary measure for residents’ protection. It is not necessary to boil tap water used for household purposes, such as showering, bathing or laundry.
Due to required testing, the boil order will remain in effect for at least 24 hours (this may be longer on weekends). Residents will be notified when the order is lifted.
If you have any questions regarding boil orders, please call 217-566-3806 or 217-306-5803 (for evenings and weekends).
