Building & Zoning


AND The Director of Building and Zoning is appointed by the Village President with duties to enforce the Williamsville Zoning Ordinance, including:

  • Review and certification of all building and occupancy permits
  • Receive, file and forward to the Zoning Board of Appeals all applications for appeals, variations and other matters on which the Zoning Board of Appeals is required to decide

Please note:  Building permit applications may be dropped off or mailed to: Village Hall, 141 W. Main Street, Williamsville, IL  62693. You may also email the completed form to  [email protected] or [email protected].   Any questions may be directed to the Village Hall at 217-566-3806. Effective 1/1/2018: This page has been updated with the revised building fee rates and building permit application form. Please contact the Village Office if you have questions or need additional information.

Effective 1/1/2025: The Village of Williamsville has entered into an Intergovernmental Agreement with Sangamon County for the building permit process.  The Village of Williamsville will be issuing permits for the following.
Sheds - 900 sq. ft or less - they must be anchored to sustain 75mph winds.
Fences
Driveways/sidewalks
Signs/towers
Above ground pools 24" or less
Please complete form Building Permit for Village in the list of forms to the right.  

Any other project will be directed to Sangamon County.  The process still needs to begin at The Village of Williamsville and a project review fee of $50 will apply.  The form to begin this process is Building Permit Sangamon County at the list to the right.  Once the $50 fee is paid to the Village of Williamsville, we will submit our approval/denial to Sangamon County.  A permit will need to be completed with them along with any applicable fees.
