Draft: Springfield Area Transportation Study

The Draft Springfield Area Transportation Study 2040 Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP) is available for public review and comment through March 3rd.  All types of travel in the urban area of Sangamon County are addressed in the Long Range Transportation Plan including vehicle, bicycle, pedestrian, local bus, and airport with linkages to passenger trains and inter-city buses. The LRTP presents strategies and projects to be undertaken over the next 25 years to create an effective, efficient, interconnected, multi-modal transportation system.  The Long Range Transportation Plan is updated every five years.

 

The 2040 LRTP draft documents are available on the SATS Website and at these locations during regular business hours:

 

·          Area Agency on Aging for Lincolnland 3100 Montvale Dr., Springfield

·          Chatham Area Public Library 600 E. Spruce St., Chatham

·          Lincoln Public Library 326 S. 7th St., Springfield

·          Springfield Mass Transit District 928 S. 9th St., Springfield

·          Springfield Park District Administrative Office 2500 S. 11th St. in Bunn Park, Springfield

·          Springfield Urban League 100 N. 11th St., Springfield

·          Springfield-Sangamon County Regional Planning Commission 200 S. 9th Street, Springfield

 

Comments on the LRTP will be accepted through Tuesday, March 3rd and will be addressed at the regularly scheduled SATS Technical Committee meeting at 8:30 AM on Thursday, March 5th at the Regional Planning Commission office.  Comments can be sent to LindaW@co.sangamon.il.us or SATS, 200 South 9th Street, Room 212, Springfield, IL 62701.
