Cardboard Recycling Reminders

1/7/2021

The Village of Williamsville and Williams Township provides two cardboard recycling dumpsters behind the Police Department for Williamsville residents only. However, we ask the community to review a few of the housekeeping rules regarding the cardboard recycling behind the police department.

  • If you use this service, you are required to break down all of your cardboard so it can lay as flat as possible. This is to create maximum space so your neighbors can use the service as well.
  • If the containers are full, you must keep your items and try again in a few days.
  • Do not leave your items outside of these containers. When one person leaves items outside it creates a snowball effect and before you know it, boxes are stacked all around the area. The company will not clean up after you, and if they are not able to get to the containers they will not empty them.
  • Also, please remember these containers are for cardboard only and are not for garbage.

This area is under 24/7 video surveillance. Leaving items outside of the container is considered illegal dumping which is punishable by a fine. The Village of Williamsville is reminding our residents to please do your part in keeping this area clean and using it only for intended purposes. While we do not want to remove this service, if our community does not follow these guidelines, we will be forced to cancel and remove this service. Thank you in advance for your cooperation and understanding!

Posted 1/7/2021: ***UPDATE: THE BOIL ORDER HAS NOW BEEN LIFTED!***

You are advised to boil all water used for drinking, preparing food, beverages, ice cubes, washing fruits and vegetables, or brushing teeth for five minutes prior to drinking it. This is a precautionary measure for residents' protection. It is not necessary to boil tap water used for household purposed, such as showering, bathing, or laundry.
