As many of you know, the Village has used Nixle notifications for many years. These notifications were used to alert the community of situations ranging from boil orders to criminal activities. Recently the Village has worked with Sangamon County and integrated a new alert system. This new system called Sangamon Alert Messaging System, or SAMS for short, will continue to provide the same notices as well as a few new features to help the Village and the Police Department keep the community informed. Please take a moment to register, choose the alerts you would like to receive, download the mobile app (optional), and tell you friends and family about this new service. On the registration from be sure to select alerts for the Village of Williamsville as well as the Williamsville Police Department. You can register here: https://public.coderedweb.com/CNE/en-US/BF62D97A39A9 The Village of Williamsville is fortunate to be a home for several Eagles. We have observed 3 nests near the lake. While they are beautiful and everyone wants to get a better look, please be respectful, aware and do not disturb them! Here are a few tips for viewing the birds:
Thank you for your cooperation in keeping these birds safe and happy in their environment in Williamsville!! The Village of Williamsville and Williams Township provides two cardboard recycling dumpsters behind the Police Department for Williamsville residents only. However, we ask the community to review a few of the housekeeping rules regarding the cardboard recycling behind the police department.
This area is under 24/7 video surveillance. Leaving items outside of the container is considered illegal dumping which is punishable by a fine. The Village of Williamsville is reminding our residents to please do your part in keeping this area clean and using it only for intended purposes. While we do not want to remove this service, if our community does not follow these guidelines, we will be forced to cancel and remove this service. Thank you in advance for your cooperation and understanding! Posted 1/7/2021: ***UPDATE: THE BOIL ORDER HAS NOW BEEN LIFTED!***
